There are two types of people at Walt Disney World: the type that go, go, go and the type that take it slow! For those who are always on the move, making sure you have all your essentials is key to surviving a hot summer week at the parks. As someone who worked at Walt Disney World, I consider myself an expert on the topic. Here are my Walt Disney World essentials.

Hey, I’m Haylee. I worked at Walt Disney World, so I would consider myself an expert on the topic of how to survive a hot summer week at the parks. Below I take you through my Walt Disney World essentials, and trust me you’ll want to read through to the end.

Portable Charger

Something about being in the parks drains your battery like no other. Even if I just took a day trip, I ALWAYS brought along my trusty charger. I love this one, mainly because it is lightweight and holds charge for a long time, meaning you can charge multiple phones.

If you plan on being at the park multiple times a year, I would recommend purchasing one of the charging sticks they offer. These can be exchanged FOR FREE once you purchase. It’s an awesome way to keep your phone charged!

A Fanny Pack

I know this one might be controversial, but I am not a backpack fan. They are bulky, can be hard to stow on rides, and they bother my shoulders by the end of the day. Now a fanny pack, is lightweight, small and easy to stow, and you can change the way you wear it throughout the day. This fanny pack is my RIDE OR DIE. I take it on every trip I take, because it is so durable, and can carry a lot more then you think. And it’s on of my favorite brands… so you couldn’t go wrong!

Hair Ties

By the end of the day in the Florida humidity, your hair will be screaming at you for letting the wind on Test Track whip it around. I always have multiple hair ties so I can throw my hair in a braid to keep it from becoming a tangled mess.

Magic Band

When I lived in Florida, I was visiting the parks often. It was so much easier to throw a Magic Band on then it was to pull out my card every single time. A Magic Band is perfect for kids, or if you’ll be staying in the park for 1 week. It seriously saves so much hassle. You can even use it for your genie plus reservations!!!

Pins for Trading

This is one of my absolute favorite things to do. I don’t bring in my massive lanyard that has heavy pins on it, no one wants to carry that around all day. I do bring in my 3-6 pins I’m willing to trade, (usually cheaper pins) and then get looking. You can ask any pin trading location for a map of where the other spots are, and there are so many more then you would think!

Disney is supposed to be a fun place. Don’t let the hustle and bustle of everything stress you out, and just be prepared to have fun!

Cheers!
