The Eiffel Tower: EVERYTHING You Need to Know

The Eiffel Towers is an absolute MUST when in Paris, even if you aren’t so sold on the idea of the giant metal cone. This iconic photo spot is known world wide, and you can’t say you’ve been to Paris without visiting the massive tower. I’ve compiled a list of all of my favorite tips & tricks to help keep the romance of Paris alive, instead of it becoming a massive headache.

TRANSPORTATION

The Eiffel tower can be reached via the Metro system, and depending on where you are staying, should only be a short walk to the station. Note, getting to and from the Eiffel Tower during the evening is TERRIBLE. Be prepared for heavy crowds and standing room only.

PHOTO SPOTS

There are plenty of places to take photos at, either right up close, or far away. You can wander around the side streets and find a perfect Parisian view to look like a local. You can walk in the park next to the tower, for some full body shots that showcase just how big the tower is.

Once you’ve gotten photos of the full tower, you can venture inside the gated area to take photos underneath the tower. And if you’re willing to pay, you can even climb (or ride) to the top and take some incredible aerial view photos!

After spending a day exploring the tower up close, you can also venture out to Trocadero Square, which gives much more distance between you and the Eiffel Tower, allowing for some beautiful shots! This is also a great place to watch the sparklies!

The Arc De Triomphe is another great photo location, and it’s much farther away. You can still get some great views from anywhere in the city!

WHAT TO DO

The Eiffel Tower has a lot of unique and interesting things to participate in while visiting!

  • Eat Inside the Eiffel Tower: If you want to splurge, you can eat at one of the restaurants in the Eiffel Tower. While these are pricey, it’s an experience like no other!
  • Climb to The Top: The Eiffel Tower has 2 levels, a second floor and a third floor, that you can venture up. The second floor is more height friendly, but the 3rd floor is a view like no other!
  • Take Photos: Like I mentioned earlier, there are dozens of photo spots around the tower, and you don’t want to miss a single photo!
  • Watch the Sunset: One of my favorite parts of visiting was watching the sunset from the second floor of the tower, it was STUNNING.
  • Watch the Sparkles: Every night on the hour, the Eiffel Tower has hundreds of lights that create a sparkling effect. This lasts for about a minute, and you don’t want to miss it.

The Eiffel Tower is a must-do, and I can’t wait to hear about what you found!

Cheers!
